I was seven years old when my Dad first brought home the tale of a boy wizard. I'd never heard of him. Needless to say, I was hooked, and then devoured proof copies of books two and three before they even hit the shelves. The perks of family working in a bookstore. 

The Shadow of the Wind is a true example of incredible storytelling. Originally written in Spanish, Zafon's work is beautifully translated, and I was just lot in the detailed, epic tale of a book within a book, in the streets of Barcelona.

This book showcases an witty, light hearted style of writing, that still fully engages the reader and leaves them wanting more! A simple detective story based in London, it has a supernatural twist that leaps to life from the pages.
